Stargazing Experience

A private evening under the stars with Lee Pullen

Stargazing Experience

Explore the night sky with your family or friends, from familiar constellations to views through a telescope.

Join me in Pensford, south of Bristol, for a private session built around your group. We’ll find our way around the sky, look through a telescope, and use a digital telescope to reveal objects that are harder to see by eye.

Who’s it for?

Families, friends, and small groups who’d like to explore the night sky together. You don’t need any astronomy experience, and there’s plenty of room for questions.

The session is private to your group, with a maximum of eight people aged eight and over. The £150 price is for the whole session, rather than per person.

I’m Lee Pullen, a professional science communicator with 20 years of astronomy experience. I’ll help you understand what you’re looking at and make the most of the sky that evening.

What could we see?

Find your way around

We’ll spot constellations and bright stars, using them as signposts to explore the sky and understand how it changes.

Look through a telescope

See what a telescope reveals beyond the naked-eye view. The Moon or planets may be among our targets when they’re well placed.

Explore deeper space

A digital telescope can build up views of fainter objects, such as nebulae, star clusters, or distant galaxies, depending on what’s visible.

How it works

  1. Book your experience. Complete your purchase through the booking page. The price covers your private group of up to eight.
  2. Arrange possible dates. I’ll contact you to agree several options, so we can choose the first night with clear skies.
  3. Meet in Pensford. We’ll spend an hour exploring the sky together. The site has car parking and toilet facilities.
  4. Ask away. Bring your curiosity and questions. I’ll guide the session and explain the objects we’re observing.

What should you bring?

Wear warm layers and comfortable outdoor footwear. Even a mild evening can feel chilly when you’re standing still under the stars.

You don’t need to bring a telescope or know your way around the sky. If there’s something you’re particularly interested in, tell me when we arrange the session.

We’ll agree several possible dates because clear skies matter. The experience takes place in Pensford, a village south of Bristol, with parking and toilets at the site.

“We had an incredible private stargazing session with Lee Pullen. He was extremely knowledgeable and passionate about astronomy, making the experience both educational and mesmerising. It was truly a magical evening for our family, and we left with a renewed interest in astronomy (and appreciation for the universe)! We highly recommend him to anyone interested in an unforgettable stargazing experience.”
