Biography

Lee Pullen is a professional photographer, astrophotographer, and science communicator based in Bristol. As the Urban Astrophotographer, he captures galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters from his city-centre back garden, showing what’s possible even under heavily light-polluted skies.

For 10 years, Lee managed the Planetarium at We The Curious, writing star shows, training presenters, and sharing astronomy with audiences of all ages. He has also worked for organisations including NASA, the European Space Agency, the European Southern Observatory, and the International Astronomical Union.

His images form the heart of Immersed in Starlight, an immersive astrophotography show combining views of the cosmos with narration and an original soundtrack. Through his talks, workshops, and website, Lee shares both the science behind his photographs and practical advice to help others take their own first steps into astrophotography.
